Doonass House, Castleconnell, Co.Limerick – January 2008

This historic house is located on a hill overlooking the Shannon river,  just downstream from Castleconnell. I visited in the January of 2008 but unluckily couldn’t gain access to the building. So, below are just some photos of the exterior of the house and the various outbuildings behind it.

Sadly, the house was burnt down two years ago by some local kids who started a fire in the basement. The fire quickly spread to the rest of the house, leaving behind only the burnt out shell which stands there today.
